The title of this book “think
straight” tempted me to pick up this book. Nobody thinks straight these days I
felt. Everybody constantly looks for hidden meanings, perceptions, unsaid
words, etc. not listening or understanding the face value of the speaker’s
message. This is very unfortunate in this era. People constantly keep thinking,
sometimes wild or extremes not considering the impact of the words for the
present.
If you are looking for any novel
life-changing tips from this book, you may be disappointed. The book is all
about your thoughts on how it needs to be controlled and channelized. Your
thoughts are the main cause of all human miseries. This book offers a message
about which we are all aware of but fail to practice, but reading this may make
you attempt to practice thinking straight and spend time listening to others'
perceptive also. The two quotes which is worth pondering picked up from this
book:
“If we want to think straight at all
times, we must stay grounded, look at facts, listen to other people’s
perspectives, and only then draw practical conclusions.”
“What I’m trying to say is that when
someone asks you a question, its okay to say, “I don’t know.” You can also say
that to yourself. I’ve often been too hard on myself because I didn’t have an
instant answer to my personal problems. That doesn’t make you dumb. It makes
you human.”
