OUTLIERS: THE STORY OF SUCCESS By Malcolm Gladwell

This is a thought provoking book; the 10,000 hours principle i.e., almost 7 years to master anything is acceptable but for artists, music directors and innovators it is an ‘Eureka” movement that makes their work a masterpiece. Therefore we need to read “Outliers” skeptically. Malcolm Gladwell argues that ‘self made’ person is a myth and is not true; could be an acceptable statement because life journey of many successful persons illustrates that they hit against unique opportunities and was lucky enough to be helped and lifted. The inductive reasoning is not scientifically convincing to a rational mind. Some arguments seem flimsy. This book is a compilation of essays on interesting topics. Reading this book helps you to look back your own life. Even though the reasoning in this book lacks depth it is an interesting book.
