I had been to Mumbai recently. The metro city is a concrete jungle. There are just buildings and people everywhere.
Everyone is busy doing something. The city is full of opportunities. Transport system is quite good. People are standing in Qs to get into the bus or an auto. They do not have the time to sweat the small stuff.
People are very helpful and not conservative in thought. People dress for convenience. Traveling in train is an experience. You will get sandwiched and pushed out while getting out in your destination. You get anything near your house.
Auto rickshaws give you back the change even if it is just rupee one.
The day is very long.Temperature is moderate.
This time I saw a lot of sky walks, but no body is using it. Who has the patience to climb up and get down. Everybody there is racing. Skywalks are just there for beggars to sleep, and for teenagers to hang out..
No power cut. Water problem is there in some areas but wonderfully regulated.
Piped gas connection in some places, Redevelopment of flats are going on in many places.
I visited the Gateway of India traveled through the 'Kasabs' trail. It was very eerie.
The warmth is lost in the area.
Boating was pleasant, for some there is yellow ticket to be purchased, from some they take cash directly, probably an illegal collection. We had children to monitor so we could not question them. Anyway their answers will not matter.
Taxis are cool but not more that three adult in one taxi is allowed.
The Museum has lots of Ratan Tata collections, the art gallery was a feast to the eyes. Art with burnt match sticks and bindis were simply superb.
We enjoyed the original flavor of Pani puries, vada pav, sev puri and bhel puri.
Temples in Nerul is maintained well.
In just 24 hours we can have darshan of Shiridi Sai. Many there are Sai devotee. The Sai temple aarthi on Thursday evening vibrates our whole body and mind. It is done in such detail and all young or old chant the bhajans. It offers a spiritual ecstasy.
Anyway visiting the financial capital was a refreshing change.
